About Vio Sustainability

Vio Sustainability is creating a service that assists businesses in waste tracking and supply chain management.

Businesses using the service could track their waste, communicate this information to a collector or processor, and obtain analytics on amounts repurposed and diverted from landfills. This project involves creating a proof of concept dashboard that would allow clients to cater their company profile with materials of interest to track, have analytics generated through materials collected over time, and add visibility options to their own clients by allowing linking of accounts to see their associated analytics.

My Roles

My responsibilities at Vio Sustainability included creating and presenting updated high-fidelity prototypes, developing components, building page layouts, and conducting interviews.

I joined Vio Sustainability as part of my practicum term at BCIT. I joined an existing team of 3 UX and UI designers who had been working on completing a final prototype for the collector’s side of the application. I assisted in completing the final. prototype by designing a list and graph view page that allows users to edit, delete and view entries on a single page which reduced the clicks it took for users to complete tasks. My next task was to develop the components and page layouts for the application’s front end making sure that every interaction was as imagined in the prototype. Last I interviewed local waste processors to better understand the biggest inconveniences they face in their day-to-day work. This was valuable in starting the prototyping for the processor side of the application.
